Drawing from a period of physical and emotional exhaustion, Ultan works with breath and sustained attention as compositional materials, creating music that inhabits a hypnagogic threshold — the liminal space between waking and sleep where perception softens and inner worlds surface. Guided by the figure of “Looks Far Woman,” a seer and caretaker within Ultan’s personal cosmology, the album traces a quiet arc of departure, repair, and return. Recorded just before a major geographic and psychic shift in Ultan’s life, the record resists virtuosity in favor of patience, restraint, and deep listening.
