The primary difference between the two models is that the SL-120 was sold without a factory-installed tonearm, allowing audiophiles to customize the turntable with a high-end aftermarket tonearm of their choice. It offers the same robust motor and build quality as the original SL-1200 but in a more streamlined, high-end package.
